Mr Yegappan Kalairajah is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a particular interest in fractures and trauma affecting the hip, knee, foot and ankle and sports injuries. He has several years of clinical experience, of which he has performed more than 1000 hp and knee replacements surgeries. He qualified from Cambridge University in 1995 before undertaking his postgraduate surgical training at Kings College Hospital. He then went on to specialise in Orthopaedic Surgery through completing training at St. Georges Hospital. Following this, he completed a fellowship and then undertook an advanced training programme with Sportmed.SA in Sports Surgery, Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty in Adelaide, Australia. He began working as a locum consultant for the Epsom and St. Heliers Hospital NHS Trust and the Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC). This Centre contains the largest Arthroplasty unit in Europe and this allowed Mr Kalairajah to become one of the best orthopaedic surgeons whilst he completed his 18 month tenure on the unit. He was then appointed the title of Consultant at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. He also remains as Honorary Consultant within the EOC unit. Mr Kalairajah also enjoys teaching and carrying out research.
