Mr Ashwin Unnithan is a Consultant specialising in Orthopaedic Surgery specifically in hip and knee replacement. He is involved in revision surgery and complex trauma surgery on upper and lower limbs and is also currently working for the NHS running a high volume practice.He graduated in Medicine in 2001 from the University of Kerala and then completed his surgical training in Surrey and Sussex. Following this, he went on to complete a Masters degree in Musculoskeletal Science at University College London. Mr Unnithan then undertook higher surgical training in both London and Surrey before completing four fellowships across the UK and in New Zealand; Complex Trauma (New Zealand), Infected and Complex Joint Replacements (Bristol hip unit), Knee Replacement Surgery (St. Albans City Hospital) and Complex Hip and Knee Replacements and Revision Surgery (Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital).Apart from his clinical work and research he has published his work in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented both nationally and internationally. Mr Unnithan was also awarded first prize in 2014 from his presentation at the British Trauma Society meeting.
