Mr (Wiliam) David Goodier is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He specialises in trauma and complex trauma and was a pioneer of limb reconstruction procedures to treat non-union fractures.He qualified in 1985 and has been a lead consultant in trauma orthopaedics for 15 years, serving as Head of Department for three of those years. His unrivalled expertise in the treatment of severe injuries led to his interest in the treatment of problem fractures, such as non-unions, post-traumatic deformity and shortening, and infected fractures.Mr Goodier delivers lectures around the UK and is interested in trauma management, including sports injuries; he has treated professional athletes for knee, foot, and ankle disorders. He also has vast experience in arthroscopic and ligament surgery on the knee and ankle joints, as well as lower limb and foot procedures.He has published on the topics of external fixators (Ilizarov and Taylor Spatial Frames), The Precice Limb Lengthening Nail, and other limb reconstruction procedures.
