About Dr. Wiemi DouoguihWiemi Douoguih is a diligent and accomplished orthopedic surgeon caring for the Washington, D.C. community. Dr. Douoguih earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He serves as Director of Sports Medicine for MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He also serves as medical director for the Washington Wizards Basketball Team and Washington Capitals Hockey Team. He has previously served as assistant physician for various sports teams, including the Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Dr. Douoguih speaks French and English fluently, which makes him widely accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Dr. Douoguih is particularly skilled at arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He is especially interested in new, minimally invasive reconstructive procedures.
