Tressa Amirthanayagam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in shoulder, elbow, and upper limb conditions. She completed her training at Cambridge University, Imperial College London, and the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. Miss Amirthanayagam has a Wellcome Trust Fellowship and has conducted research on rotator cuff sparing approaches for total shoulder replacement. She is a member of the British Shoulder and Elbow Society and is on the GMC specialist register for orthopaedic surgery. In her NHS role, she is involved in training higher surgical trainees and enjoys teaching and explaining complex principles simply to ensure patients are well informed.
