Mr Shilpith Shetty is an expert Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip and Knee Surgery. He has worked as a full time Consultant in both the NHS and Private sector since 2006 and has more than 25 years of experience of working in the NHS. He is currently based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital and sees private patients at the following locations: Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital Sarum Road Hospital Candover Clinic - Basingstoke Hospital Healthshare Winchester Clinic Mr Shetty became an expert in hip and knee surgery after obtaining fellowships from internationally acclaimed tertiary referral hospitals including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He initially did his Masters In Surgery and Diplomate of the National Board in Orthopaedics in 1996. In 2002, he completed his MCh degree in Orthopaedics at the University of Liverpool and was awarded Fellowship status in Trauma & Orthopaedics ( FRCS -Ortho) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Shetty specialises in minimally invasive hip replacements, knee replacements, including partial knee replacements, arthroscopic knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, hip and knee arthritis in young adults, revision hip and knee surgery, sports injuries and trauma. He is also a expert in Robotic Hip and Knee Surgery. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Shetty is also an Associate Professor at St Georges Medical School. He is passionate about teaching and training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and is a eductional supervisor to a number of junior trainees. He has recieved Clinical Excellence awards in the NHS and is one of the Senior Orthopaedic Consultants at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
