After completing Specialist Orthopedic training  at Bristol, Leicester, Edinburgh and Manchester regions, Mr Shashi (Shash) Garg has been working as a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon (Hip, Knee & ankle replacement) and Foot & Ankle specialist with special interest in sport injuries and shock wave therap, at The Lancaster Hospital and NHS for over 23 years. He has vast experience in lower limb orthopaedic surgery. He has performed over 1000 hip and knee replacements and 230 ankle replacements. He is considered an international and national expert in Ankle replacement and has delivered lectures on ankle replacements in UK and abroad and, as a faculty trainer in Training Courses/ conferences/ regional meetings. He has trained colleagues and  several visiting surgeons at Westmorland General Hospital (Centre of Clinical Excellence for Ankle Replacement). Shash offers consultations for a number of complaints including joint replacement for hip, knee arthritis, Foot & Ankle -  Sport injuries, ligament, tendon reconstruction, Bunion Surgery, fusion big toe, Toe Joint replacement and complex reconstruction of high arch (cavus), collapsed arch (flat) foot. He also offers Shockwave therapy for soft tissue problems of the lower limb - heel pain, Achilles tendon, knee pain, hip pain due to bursitis and hamstrings. Mr Garg is involved in research, published papers in scientific journals and his areas of special interests are - Ankle replacement, Toe joint replacement, fusion of big toe, bunion surgery, correction of flat foot (collapsed arch), high arch, sports injury related foot and ankle surgery such as ligament reconstruction, peroneal tendon dislocation and Achilles tendon problems, plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia including Mortons neuroma.
