Mr Purnajyoti Banerjee is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Spinal Surgery and the non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He is based at the London Spine Unit and currently sees private patients at the Harley Street Hospital.  Mr Banerjee completed his medical degree followed by his Diploma in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Calcutta University, India in 1997 and 2003 respectively. He later moved to the UK and was awarded his Membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007. In 2012, Mr Banerjee completed his Masters degree in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Warwick University and in 2015, he was awarded his SICOT Diploma by SICOT (International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology). He has undertaken complex spine fellowship at St Georges Hospital London and was awarded the prestigious AOSpine Fellowship in Schoen Clinic Munich Germany in 2023.  Mr Banerjee specialises in the management of back and neck pathologies and has over 20 years’ experience in Orthopaedic surgery in India, Germany and the UK. He has five years of specialist consultant spine surgeon experience in managing spinal trauma, spinal deformity and degenerative conditions of spine. He specialised in keyhole spinal surgery for back pain and leg pain and did the first disc surgery using this novel technique in Northamptonshire.
