Mr Moataz El-Husseiny is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, and sports injuries. He is based at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and has a private practice at Spire Thames Valley Hospital. Mr El-Husseiny is a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.After gaining his medical degree from Cairo University in 1999, Mr El-Husseiny went on to obtain a post-graduate diploma in sports and exercise medicine. He then studied for an MD (Res) in biomedical/medical engineering at University College London before completing his higher surgical training. During his training, Mr El-Husseiny spent time at a number of esteemed hospitals including The Royal London Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.Mr El-Husseiny is also well-known for his research and has had his work published in a number of medical journals. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and has previously been an examiner for FRCS (Tr and Orth) courses. He also runs an FRCS training program to help senior surgeons who are sitting the fellowship exam. In addition, Mr El-Husseiny is the current orthopaedic lead for clinical governance at Heatherwood and Wexham Hospitals.
