Dr Mallika Sekhar is a Consultant Haematologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and University College London Hospital NHS Trust. She have been a Consultant since 1995 before which she trained in India, UK and USA. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists. She is active in clinical research and is an Honorary Associate Professor of Haematology at University College London. She has served in public office including as a non-executive director of the National Blood Service and as a committee member of the Safety of Blood Committee. She is an advocate for patients with myeloproliferative diseases with abdominal vein thrombosis and has established a UK registry for these patients. Her research interests include medical error and uncertainty.
