Professor Kuntal Patel is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a speciality in lower limb surgery. He has a great interest in hip replacement, knee replacement, foot surgery and ACL reconstruction. He completed a specialist Registrar Rotation in Trauma and Orthopaedics beginning in North Western Deanery and then through several hospitals in Preston, Chorley, Bolton, Stockport, Blackburn, Burnley and Wrightington. He achieved a Fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty in Wrightington Hospital, known to be one of the most renowned hospitals for Orthopaedic Surgery. This training provided Mr Patel with the finest experience on a wide range of Orthopaedic surgery, including hip and knee surgery and also complex revision arthroplasty. He consults on young adult hip problems, metal hip replacements, management of sports injuries, minimally invasive surgery and arthroplasty. Apart from performing surgery, he teaches in regional and national training courses, where he can provide his skills and expertise. He also visits conferences and liaises with surgeons from all around the world. He has successfully published articles on Trauma and Orthopaedics and presents his research both nationally and internationally. His hobbies include swimming, fell walking, cricket, badminton and travelling.
