Mr Kunal Kulkarni is an experienced, fellowship-trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist surgeon. He holds a substantive NHS Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon post at the University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) NHS Trust, with a sub-specialist interest in both trauma and elective hand and wrist surgery. Mr Kulkarni received his medical degree from the University of Oxford and has since completed his surgical training across the Oxford, London, and Midlands training regions. He is fellowship trained, having completed a post-CCT Senior Clinical Hand Fellow post at the internationally renowned Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby. He has also undertaken a competitively awarded British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Travelling Fellowship at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, India – one of the worlds leading ortho-plastic surgical centres. Mr Kulkarni is one of only a select few hand and wrist surgeons in the UK that is dual certified with both the British and European Diplomas in Hand Surgery. His elective (planned) NHS practice as well as his work at Spire Leicester Hospital encompasses the breadth of elective and trauma hand and wrist surgery. He sees both adults and children with hand and wrist problems. At UHL, his NHS practice also encompasses the management of general adult and paediatric trauma.
