Professor Jarrod Homer is a consultant ENT and head and neck surgeon at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. He has almost two decades of experience and specialises in thyroid issues, neck lumps, and the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers. He has a clinical interest in the assessment of throat problems and was one of the first surgeons in the UK to perform neck ultrasound and ultrasound-guided needle biopsy. This enables patients with a lump in the neck to receive a one-stop service, avoiding multiple appointments and allowing for a faster diagnosis.Professor Homer typically treats patients with common ear, nose, and throat issues, such as a lump in the throat sensation, recurrent tonsil infections, nasal blockage, sinus issues, and facial pain. He also has a wealth of experience in cosmetic rhinoplasty and has received national recognition for his work, having successfully completed over 1000 procedures.Additionally, he has had his work published in over 100 peer-reviewed journals and received more than £1.5 million in research grants during his tenure. He currently serves as the clinical chair of otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of Manchester and is also an international authority on head and neck surgery.
