Mr. James Rainsbury is an accomplished ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) surgeon. He graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2001.Mr Rainsbury completed his comprehensive ENT higher surgical training in the West Midlands, where he developed his skills in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions related to the ear, nose, and throat. He was awarded the prestigious Intercollegiate Gold Medal for achieving the highest mark in the FRCS ORL-HNS examination, the final step before becoming a consultant in ENT.Mr. Rainsbury underwent additional training at renowned medical institutions worldwide. He trained at the Causse Ear Clinic in France, the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and at Victoria General Hospital and IWK Paediatric hospitals in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Currently, Mr. Rainsbury holds the position of Training Programme Director for Peninsula ENT higher surgical trainees, where he plays a crucial role in the education and development of future ENT specialists. His commitment to education and training was recognised when he was voted as the ENT consultant of the year in 2017 by the South West trainees.As a consultant ENT surgeon at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Mr Rainsbury provides comprehensive care for a wide range of general and paediatric ENT conditions. His special interests include paediatric ENT, disorders related to the ear, including hearing and balance issues, and problems associated with the Eustachian tube. He has achieved sub-specialty training in Otology, which focuses on ear-related conditions and surgeries, and he has an impressive record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, having presented his work on both national and international platforms.
