Mr Hari Prem completed his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery at Guys and St Thomas Hospitals in London, followed by an Arthroscopy Fellowship in Australia, and an Ankle Replacement Fellowship and a Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at Manchester. He currently works as an esteemed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and the Birmingham Childrens Hospital. Mr Prem deals with all aspects of foot and ankle surgery and limb reconstruction in all age groups - from newborns to the elderly. He also has a specialist interest in sports injuries and he is currently studying the role of shockwave therapy for painful tendons and fascia. He has completed successful work on a new condition called Osteochondrosis, in adolescent footballers. He has furthermore studied rare conditions like spring ligament ruptures and peroneal spastic flatfeet.Mr Prem is also heavily involved in research, having published papers on the long-term results of ankle replacements, ultrasound study of tendon healing and clubfoot surgery, and presented them at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and at other international and national meetings.
