Mr Hanny Anwar is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Spinal Tumours at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). He obtained an intercalated Bachelor degree in Medical Sciences with Honours in London and graduated from St. Bartholomews and the Royal London Medical School, University of London, in 2003. He trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the prestigious Percival Pott training programme rotating at St. Bartholomews and the Royal London Hospitals, the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Mr Anwar is also on the board of London Cancer for Acute Oncology concerning metastatic spinal cord compression.Mr Hanny Anwar sub-specialises in the surgical treatment of spinal tumours and complex spinal deformity and is one of the spinal sarcoma surgeons of the London Sarcoma Service. He uses most modern, minimally invasive techniques and computer-assisted spinal navigation to achieve the best possible outcome and improve the recovery from complex spinal surgery. Mr Anwar has also an interest in the non-surgical management of spinal conditions (including sciatica, neck and back pain). Mr Anwar is actively involved in research with the focus on primary spinal tumours, minimally invasive spinal metastasis treatment and safety in spinal surgery.
