Mr Dominic Spicer is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Imperial College Hospitals NHS Trust and is on the emergency staff of the West London Major Trauma Unit at St Marys Hospital. He qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Hospital Medical Schools and trained on the St Marys Hospital Orthopaedic rotation, at the Arthroplasty Foundation and the Rudy Ellis Sports Medicine Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He passed his FRCS exam with distinction. In 2001 he first took up a post as Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon at St Bartholomews and the Royal London Hospitals and in 2004 he moved to St Marys and Imperial College School of Medicine. Mr Spicer sees patients with degenerative knee conditions and sports injuries. He is particularly interested in meniscus, ligament and cartilage problems, joint preservation surgery, osteotomy and joint replacement. Mr Spicer has a keen interest in research and education. He has published extensively in his area of expertise. He is a trainer on both the Imperial College Undergraduate and Postgraduate Orthopaedic Training Programmes, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Honorary Clinical Anatomist at Imperial College. Mr Spicer has a distinguished role in Third World Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Training programmes in developing countries. Mr Spicers main private practice is based with LBO in The Shard, he also has clinics at other convinient central London locations. He is covered by all insurance comapines and also sees self funding patients. He is a highly experienced and very personable.
