Biography
Dr. Deborah Barbiere received a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pace University, as well as a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College. She is a licensed Psychologist and Acupuncturist, and Diplomate in Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, Chinese Herbology and Biomedicine. Dr. Barbiere has been in private clinical practice for over 20 years with a wide range of experience in schools, hospitals and outpatient facilities in the capacity of practitioner and supervisor. This has included NYU Lutheran affiliation where she conducted research on Acupuncture in Post-Stroke Depression and Recovery, and treated patients in Labor & Delivery in a prevention program to reduce incidence of emergency C-sections. She is Board Member, Council Representative and Past President for the New York State Psychological Association Independent Practice Division; has served as Adjunct Clinical Supervisor for Yeshiva University Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology; and is Founder and Director of Integrative Health NYC.
Dr. Barbiere recognizes the interdependence of mind and body whether treating physical, psycho-emotional, or behavioral conditions. Treatment modalities include Acupuncture, Herbal and Oriental Medicine (including Cupping, Gua Sha, Asian Massage, Electro-acupuncture, & Eastern Nutrition); as well as Somatic, Mind Body and Eastern influenced Psychotherapy, Biofeedback, Life Coaching and Emotional Freedom Technique. Whether using any of these techniques exclusively or in combination, Dr. Barbiere brings a broad range of skills and experience to the treatment room.
