Professor David Warwick is a leader in National and International Hand Surgery and the 2020 President of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. David has been an NHS Consultant at University Hospital Southampton for over 20 years.David Trained in basic surgery in Bristol and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1989. He then specialised in Orthopaedics Surgery for the next seven years as a Registrar on the South West Regional Training Scheme. He qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1996 and then underwent highly specialised Hand Surgery training in Oxford and Sydney Australia.David has recently finished as Secretary of the BSSH and Executive Committee Member of the European Hand Society. He now sits on the Executive Committee of the International Federation for Societies for Surgery of the Hand. His teaching, research, and international reputation were rewarded by the University of Southampton with an Honorary Professorship in 2013 and his NHS contribution has been awarded with a Bronze Clinical Excellence award.Professor Warwicks Hand Clinic is based on excellent technical practice, education and reflection to ensure the most up-to-date, safe and appropriate care. He ensures bespoke treatments that put patient preferences and needs at the centre. With his dedicated team, David provides information, treatments and aftercare support to his patients and is known for his caring and enthusiastic energy. Outside of his work he is involved in supporting charities both in the Uk and in India.
