Mr. Benignus Okafor is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with over 20 year of experience. He is based at Whipps University Hospital and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St Bartholomews Medical School. He has a extensive experience treating a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, with a specialist interest in spine disorders, trauma and lower limb disorders.After completing his medical training at St Bartholomews Medical School, he undertook his postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital. He went on to complete his Fellowship in Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons and gained his certification of specialist training. Following this, he completed at Spinal Fellowship at University College Hospital in London and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. In 1998, he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Whipps Cross Hospital.Mr. Okafar works with a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, radiologists and pain therapists. He provides support for community based musculoskeletal services and participates in providing both emergency services for the NHS, and undertaking major trauma work and complex spine surgery.
