Mr Ashley Costin-Brown is an award winning, Fellowship trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He graduated from the University of Glasgow with Honours in 2011 and subsequently undertook his early years training in London, UK. Mr Costin-Brown obtained his specialist Orthopaedic training in the West Midlands, on the prestigious Oswestry-Stoke rotation based at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2020, where he was awarded the Sir Walter Mercer medal as the most outstanding candidate for the whole year across the UK.In 2021, Mr Costin-Brown undertook his Fellowship Training in the world famous Sunnybrook-Holland Orthopaedic Centre in Toronto, Canada where he gained international experience in the latest techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery. He currently holds a full-time NHS Consultant post at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.Mr Costin-Brown has a patient-focused approach to his practice and is uses state-of-the-art implants with high-performing bearings during hip and knee replacement surgery to ensure his patients can maintain high levels of activity after surgery. He also employs enhanced recovery techniques that enable a speedy recovery and reduces the hospital stay.His main areas of specialist interest include partial knee replacement, hip and knee replacements for arthritis and other joint problems, revision hip and knee replacements for failed or problematic joint replacements, fractures around hip and knee replacements (periprosthetic fractures), infected hip and knee replacements (prosthetic joint infection), and knee keyhole surgery and procedures.He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and the British Orthopaedic Association.
