I decided to become a counsellor after years of working in the health and social care sector as a carer. I felt that I needed to know more about supporting my client as a whole person, not just their physical health but their mental health too. Through gaining my counselling qualification I had to go on my own journey with my counsellor, so I can appreciate how hard it can feel to reach out for counselling and this is why I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to see how it might feel to work together. My therapy practice is a place for my clients to be their true selves, without fear of judgment. It is a place where I can support my clients through any challenges they may be experiencing, helping them to gain a better understanding of what is going on for them, here and now. I am a person-centred counsellor, this means that I work in a way that is centred around you as my client, your needs and your autonomy. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental, safe space where you can speak freely, feel heard and more importantly understood. Challenges, issues and difficulties can happen to us all during our lives and it can be easy for them to begin to feel unmanageable. This can leave us with feelings that we struggle to make sense of or leave us feeling out of control. Asking for help when you need it is the first step to making sense of those feelings and making them more manageable.I will be with you, listening to you, offering you the time, space and support needed to start to make sense of your thoughts and feelings around whatever has brought you to counselling now.
