Mr Shafi Wardak is a well experienced Consultant Urologist at Berkshire Independent Hospital with extensive training and expertise in various areas of urological surgery. He completed his medical degree at University College London in 2009, followed by his Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree at the University of London and his Master’s degree in Surgical Technology at Imperial College London. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. During his higher surgical training, Mr Wardak trained at several renowned teaching hospitals in London, including The Royal London Hospital, Guys & St Thomas Hospital and University College London Hospitals (UCLH). He later completed his senior fellowship at UCLHs Institute of Andrology, where he specialised in male infertility management, penile prosthetic surgery, and genital reconstruction. This unique experience equipped him with the necessary skills to handle complex cases related to male infertility and perform various surgical sperm retrieval techniques for assisted conception. Mr Wardak also collaborates closely with gynaecology colleagues and oversees a fertility clinic at Thames Valley Fertility. Mr Wardak has expertise in a wide range of procedures, including penile prosthetic surgery, including both malleable and inflatable implants, as well as corrective procedures for Peyronies disease utilising techniques such as plication and grafting. He also offers a regional service for the management of male hypogonadism, a condition characterised by low testosterone levels. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Wardak is a keen researcher. He has contributed to high-impact peer-reviewed scientific journals and frequently presents his research findings at national and international academic conferences. He is also actively involved in medical management and currently holds the position of Lead for Clinical Governance at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, he ensures the provision of high-quality, safe and effective care to patients. Mr Wardack holds professional memberships with the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), the European Association of Urology (EAU), and the American Urological Association (AUA).
