Mr Hussain Alnajjar is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at University College London Hospital (UCLH). He is an Honorary Associate Professor at UCL. He completed pre-clinical Medicine at St Andrews University in Scotland, and clinical Medicine at University College London Medical School (UCL). He undertook academic training with a Master of Surgery degree at the University of Edinburgh in Urology, passing with Distinction. He received broad training in all disciplines of Urology, and completed his higher surgical training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals. He undertook his advanced fellowship in surgical andrology and genito-urethral oncology at the world-renowned specialist Andrology unit at UCLH, further refining his specialist skills and performing cutting-edge surgery. Hussain has a dual-qualification, being awarded Fellowships with The Royal College of Surgeons of England FRCS (Urol) and the European Board of Urology (FEBU). He has won several awards and prizes for his clinical and academic achievements, including a coveted award from The Royal Society of Medicine. Hussain has special interest in male factor infertility, erectile dysfunction and penile prosthesis surgery, Peyronie's disease and its surgical correction, priapism, genito-urethral oncology (penile cancer and testicular cancer) and genital reconstruction. He also manages men with all testicular conditions, low testosterone (hypogonadism), male sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain disorders. Hussain has published widely in a number of high impact factor peer-reviewed medical journals and is actively involved in research in his field. He has extensively presented his work at national and international conferences including being an invited speaker at international conferences. He has written numerous book chapters and has co-authored a textbook within the field of Andrology. Hussain is a keen mentor and trainer. He is a member of the European Board of Urology Examination Committee. He is a Urology tutor and a final year examiner at UCL medical school. Hussain is a tutor for the MCh (Urol) Master's degree course for the Andrology module. He is also an examiner for the membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) examination. Hussain is trilingual (English, Farsi & Arabic). He enjoys listening to music, playing musical instruments and travelling in his free time.
