Are you feeling low in mood, anxious or stressed? Have events in your life caused you to feel this way? Are you experiencing some difficulties in your relationships that you need help with? Have you experienced a bereavement that you are struggling to cope with? Life can be difficult and challenging at times and it isn’t always easy to talk to those closest to you. This is when counselling can be of help. As a Counsellor, I can offer the opportunity to talk about the difficulties you are facing in a confidential, safe and supportive environment, working together with you on your concerns and enabling you to gain understanding and make sense of how you are feeling so that life can begin to feel easier. Engaging in counselling provides the opportunity to be listened to with empathy, compassion and understanding, without judgement, as we work together to explore the difficulties you are facing. As a counsellor, I am person centred in my approach. I will also draw on other models of therapy which I feel may be of benefit to you (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy. I have also completed further specialised training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and bereavement and loss.
