Biography
I grew up in Montreal, where I completed my PhD at McGill University in Counseling Psychology. I have worked in Quebec, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Since 2008, I have held a private practice in Londonderry, NH.
I see clients working on goals such as reducing depression or anxiety, improving work-life balance, or better managing general life stress. Some clients I see want to improve satisfaction in a relationship, for instance, but need help identifying changes they need to make. Others have already identified an important life change but need coaching and guidance to help get through the process. We all know life can be stressful, particularly in today's world, where it is normal to feel anxious and uncertain. At times this can feel overwhelming and unmanageable. When that happens, it can help to talk with someone who can be impartial and help you think about things in a way you haven't considered. This can be a critical step towards making the changes that are important to you.
As a Licensed Psychologist in NH and a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, I integrate several approaches that fall under the umbrella of Positive Psychology. Positive Psychology is about building on your strengths and assets to achieve success, however you define it. One such approach is cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT). CBT is based on the idea that changing how we think can profoundly impact our feelings and behaviors. Though you may not realize it, you are actually an expert in understanding your own thoughts and feelings.
I believe my job is to help you eventually become "your own therapist". For most people I treat, therapy is brief, solution focused, and goal oriented. Importantly, it is a collaborative process. If you are invested and ready to make a change, I would be happy to speak with you to discuss the possibility of meeting, and hopefully schedule an appointment (either virtual or in-person) to talk about your goals.
