As a psychologist licensed in RI and MA. I have maintained an independent psychotherapy practice for over 30 years. Therapy with me allows each individual to feel fully recognized and accepted. The most common reasons that people come to me are for help with depression and anxiety. We often discover the self-defeating ways--avoidance, aggressiveness, addiction-- you use to cope with the stresses of everyday life. We usually find that the problems are present in the most intimate relationships, and may be threatening work relationships as well. You will be supported in your striving to live a fuller and more contented life. My orientation is primarily psychoanalytic, with an emphasis on understanding the patterns and themes that exert a major role in one's experience. Reflect on the influences of family, culture, generation. Become aware of self-limiting roles. And the therapeutic relationship itself can enhance your feeling about yourself and bring you closer to others.
