Mr Kulkarni was appointed as a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the King¡¦s Mill Hospital in June 2003. He qualified in Bombay, India and achieved the degree of Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics from Bombay University in 1994. He completed his training in the UK in Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield and Bournemouth and passed the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination in 1999. He completed his Knee Fellowship in Derby and Nottingham. His special interests are knee ligament injuries and lower limb arthroplasty including hip resurfacing. He currently works at the BMI The Park Hospital, King¡¦s Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital. AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS „« Ranked 1st in the Diploma in Orthopaedics (D Ortho) examination conducted by the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Bombay and awarded the Gold Medal - Shantilal Seth Prize. Ranked 5th to the University of Bombay in the Final MBBS Examination among over 600 candidates. Distinctions (75%) in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Surgery, ENT & Ophthalmology. Highest score in the annual OITE (Orthopaedic In Training Examination) for Mid-Tent Orthopaedic trainees 1997 ATLS Instructor. AO Instuctor. High School Scholarship ¡V awarded to 200 students every year by the Govt. of Maharashtra based on a competitive examination.
