I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1990 and immediately developed an interest in neurological rehabilitation working in a variety of posts at Wirral Hospital NHS Trust between the Neuro Rehabilitation and Stroke Rehabilitation Units. For the last seven years I have worked in the independent sector as a Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist which has enabled me to expand my skills in working with clients predominantly with Acquired Brain Injuries in the community setting and to gain experience of working with Case Managers and Litigation teams as a treating clinician. I have considerable experience in devising therapeutic programmes for clients with cognitive deficits incorporating a combination of education and exploring and establishing compensatory strategies and structure within daily living.
