An occupational therapist who is passionate about the therapeutic role that exists in working with children and young people with complex additional needs. I seek opportunities which expand the scope of my knowledge and professional capability, and thrive on new challenge. I have a keen professional interest in facilitating context-based and functionally relevant therapy for young people. I enjoy the outdoors and creative activity of all varieties, and believe in the value of incorporating this into my therapy when appropriate. Specific interest areas include: -Facilitating the development of independent living and life skills. -Use of immersive activities and client-therapist co-participation as a means to develop rapport and improve well being. - Non-typical/Role-emerging occupational therapy and innovative use of core skills. I possess a strong social consciousness and have found ways to express this across all cultures I have experienced, both professionally and personally. Most recently in 2016, I completed a 3-phase, 'Earth, Wind and Fire' challenge, where I completed a fire walk, skydive and half-marathon to raise funds for the children and young people I worked with at Moor House School and College.
