I am an Advanced Occupational Therapist and Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner, working for Rotherham CAMHS in their neuro-developmental assessment team. l previously worked in an independent school for autism. I have developed many packages of care that relate to how an individual processes the world around them, and how it impacts on their emotional arousal and behaviour. Before embarking on my previous post in Sheffield Tier4 CAMHS there was little knowledge around this subject area within Sheffield, however, from pure tenacity and persistence, it is fully embedded within the mental health frame work, particularly with younger children with more neuro-developmental difficulties, such as ASD, ADHD and attachment difficulties. I have trained many staff, including Psychiatrists, MDT, Teachers and other community staff, as well as parents, and have presented on Radio and at conferences. I chair the Regional Special Interest Group for Sensory Integration for the North West and Yorkshire. I have been qualified for over 2 decades and working with children for the majority of those. However......I am also the owner of Flushdyke Rehoming and Boarding Kennels in Ossett, Wakefield, West Yorkshire. We strive to save as many dogs as possible that have been found straying in the streets and either return them to their owners or find them new furever homes. Our boarding side provides top quality care for your dogs whilst you are away, be it business or pleasure, and we have fully trained staff, 24 hour CCTV and security.
