I have worked in learning disabilites for over 6 years. During this time i have developed my skills and knowledge within this speciality especially learning indepth about sensory integration; the neuroscience behind sensory integration, assessments and interventions using Ayres sensory integration approach. Prior to working in learning disabilities, i spent 3 years on rotation within an acute hospital working in a variety of areas; stroke, care of the elderly, medecine, surgery and orthopedics. i spent a further 8 months working in a community hospitals where patients from the acute hospitals are discharged to for further rehab before being discharged home.
