I have extensive experience providing occupational therapy for adults 18+ across acute health, inpatient and community rehabilitation, reablement, social care and housing services. Based in London for the last 20 years, I work with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds to maximise their independence and achieve the outcomes that are meaningful for them. I have always worked in services traditionally considered to be 'physical' rather than 'mental health', however I have a special interest in overcoming the artificial barriers that these distinctions create to provide holistic interventions within a whole system approach to function. I draw on a wide base of knowledge and skills to develop tailored occupational therapy interventions including: goal setting, training in adaptive or compensatory strategies, equipment prescription, environmental adaptations, moving and handling plans, housing assessments, health coaching, advocacy, signposting, and liaison with other services. I continually strive to develop my practice by engaging in a wide range of continuous professional development activities. Having spent seven years in leadership and service development within an integrated NHS and Social Care Reablement service, I have now moved into the private sector to expand my practice.
