I am an experienced and qualified counsellor. My approach is integrative which means I use insight from a wide range of counselling approaches, tailored to suit the unique, individual needs of my clients. I work holistically with human brokenness, suffering, pain, inner struggles and spiritual issues using pastoral psychology and counselling knowledge. I work with those from a faith and no faith background. I have a very high regard for the counselling relationship, and regard this as an essential element of our work together; as such I use a Person-Centred approach. I am aware of the importance of the unconscious, and how the past affects the present, so I also use Psychodynamic insights. Clients will often experience what would appear to be "unfinished business" from the past, and I may address this by using Gestalt. Research informs me that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is very effective to assist clients experiencing depression and anxiety, so I will tailor this in as appropriate. I may also use creative interventions where this is thought to be beneficial. I am aware individuals are part of a wider family system, and as such, I use a systemic approach to work with individuals and couples. My approach is collaborative, this means that I will not be in the "driving seat", but I will walk alongside you. I have the following Counselling qualifications:-Advanced Diploma in Clinical and Pastoral Counselling accredited with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).Certificates in Grief & Bereavement Counselling; Crisis & Trauma Counselling & Couple and Family Counselling (GCU)Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CPCAB)Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling (DipHE) accredited with Roehampton University. BA (Hons) in Counselling, accredited with Roehampton University.
