As a qualified integrative psychotherapist I draw from different approaches in order to listen effectively to your individual experiences. I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and empathetic space for you to explore, understand and cope with life's difficulties. My approach is integrative and relational which means that I work collaboratively with you and your unique experiences.I have developed a particular interest in PolyVagal Theory. Clients with a history of trauma can often experience more extreme autonomic responses which in turn can affect their ability to feel safe and connect with others. Learning about our own autonomic nervous system, opens the door for self-compassion. We are all faced with the dilemma of balancing the drive to survive with the longing to connect to others. Finding a balance with these often competing urges can help bring peace and resolution.I have experience in supporting people from all different walks of life coping with a wide range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, sudden loss, childhood trauma/abuse, family conflict and relocation.I have over thirty years experience working as a health professional, originally as a dentist and now in counselling and psychotherapy. During that time I worked in both the NHS and private sectors. I also worked as a volunteer at bereavement care and at a charitable centre in South London. My Mental Health familiarisation placement was at a west London NHS trust hospital. I now work in private practice in Fulham .UKCP accreditedAdvanced Diploma in Integrative psychotherapy (Regents University).Post graduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Regents University).Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Psychology (City University).Bachelor of Dental Surgery (University College London).
