As Erykah Badu sings in her powerful song, "Bag Lady," it's time to let go of all those heavy bags you've been carrying and start fresh. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, non-judgment, and collaboration. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow, and my role as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment to facilitate that process. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, self esteem, family conflict and life transitions. I have worked width individuals at all ages and all stages of life. I understand that seeking therapy can be a vulnerable and courageous step, and I commend you for taking that first step. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship that is authentic, respectful, and empowering. My approach to therapy is client-centered, which means that I prioritize your needs and goals throughout the therapeutic process. My practice is informed by evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. So, let's put those bags down and start the journey towards healing and growth. In the words of Erykah Badu, "Bag lady, you gone hurt your back, dragging all them bags like that. I guess nobody ever told you, all you must hold onto, is you, is you, is you."show moreWhat should a new client know about working with you?The first session is primarily for me to build a good case conceptualization of your concern(s), and then to give you an outline of how we will proceed, possible length of time it will take, etc. Subsequent sessions will be to keep you on track with treatment goals and continue until we both agree that therapy is no longer needed. The many clients I have seen over the years will tell you I am a "direct, no fluff" kind of therapist but always come from a place of kindness and care.show more
