Venous surgeon - multiple UK firsts: 1st to use HIFU Echotherapy (Sonovein) for varicose veins 2019, 1st to use Endovenous Microwave Ablation 2019, invented TRLOP to close perforator veins (part of varicose veins) in 2001, 1st endovenous surgery for varicose veins in UK in1999. Mark has won many international and national prizes for research in venous surgery. Owner and director of The Whiteley Clinic, internationally renowned clinics for the treatment of varicose veins and venous conditions (such as leg ulcers) and pelvic congestion syndrome. In 2011, Mark set up The College of Phlebology (www.CollegeofPhlebology.com) - an internet based College for anyone who is interested in learning about, and discussing vein disease and treatments. Mark currently sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery Veins and Lymphatics. In April 2013, Mark was made a Visiting Professor at The University of Surrey.
