Maria Basile, MD is a member of the Ophthalmology Practice at the Beth Israel Medical Group. She specializes in the medical, laser and surgical management of patients with glaucoma, as well as small incision cataract surgery. Dr. Basile completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. She then went on to complete prestigious fellowship training in Glaucoma at the Mount Sinai Medical Center with Dr. Steven Podos, prior to joining the Beth Israel Medical Group. Dr. Basile is also an Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology in NYEE, involved in supervising and teaching residents. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Basile presented her research work at national ophthalmology meetings, as well authored book chapters.
