Dr. Michael J. Miyashiro is a Board-Certified General Ophthalmologist, Fellowship Trained Pediatric Ophthalmologist, and Facial Aesthetic Specialist. Dr. Miyashiro received his pharmacy degree from Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, medical degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and completed his general ophthalmology residency and pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Hermman Eye Center in Houston, Texas. He has over 20 years of experience in ophthalmology and facial aesthetics, practicing at his private practice in Hilo, Hawaii at Ludwig Ophthalmology Centre and Hilo Laser Skincare. He specializes in urgent and non-emergent eye conditions, selective oculoplastics surgery including cosmetic blepharoplasty and malposition eyelid procedures, and non-invasive liquid facelifts including dermal fillers and contour threading. Dr. Miyashiro has received much recognition for his meticulous ophthalmology work and aloha spirit including “Best of East Hawaii- Best Physician” for 2019-2021 and “Honolulu Magazine -Top Doctors” for 2019-2021, two of many prestigious awards. He enjoys spending time with his wife Joelle and his two sons, Cole and Dane. In his spare time, he enjoys Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and watching his sons play baseball.
