Hi! My name is Lauren Lorge and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I use a client-centered, non-judgmental, genuine approach that focuses on addressing the issues that get in the way of clients living the life they want to live. My approach I use a client-centered approach and like to focus on the goals the client has come in to work on. Some of the evidence-based interventions I use include CBT, DBT, brainspotting, solution-focused approach, motivational interviewing, IFS, and ACT. My focus I have worked with a range of ages including older teens, young adults, middle aged and up to 65 years old. Anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma have been typical things clients have come to therapy for. My communication style I always want client’s to feel empowered to make their own decisions. I have been told by clients and in my personal life that I am a good listener. I come from a place of curiosity and really wanting to get to know the client and what they are thinking and feeling. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been interested in people so in undergrad I found myself studying history and psychology. When deciding on graduate school, I wanted to get into social work because I loved the idea of being a part of changing lives on an individual level. Empowering others to do for themselves, helping others see their own potential, and reflectively listening have been the ways I have always felt are my natural helping style. Seeing client’s pride in themselves and their growth is the boost that keeps me going in this field! My goals for you I let the client lead this. If a client is wanting more precise and measurable goals we can take the time to identify them. I am also ok with clients leaving it less formal. My first session with you The first session or two may be a bit more question heavy and focused on getting more background and history from the client. This is in the hopes to start forming a fuller picture of who the client is.
