Hello! I'm Nellie Finn, LMFT, LPCC therapist. I help clients who are experiencing anxiety, moderate depression, life transitions, career stress, fertility challenges, and relationship issues. My goal is to help clients learn to manage daily stressors with tools they learn to use in therapy and outside in their daily lives. My approach My therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral, which focuses on processing thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviors and their interconnectedness. Exploring thinking patterns can lead to more self-awareness and improved mood and feelings of well-being. I also incorporate a solution-focused approach that anchors success, no matter how small, toward making forward strides. I help clients look for what is working? How did you make it this far? What success can we build on? And lastly, I incorporate mindfulness into each session. Clients practice relaxation techniques to manage stress instead of relying on fight/flight/freeze reactions to stress which contributes to anxiety and depression. My focus My client focus is diverse. I like working with clients from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds. I like working with clients who need support with anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, moderate depression, grief, relationships, career, parenting, marriage, dating, infertility and health issues. My communication style I start my sessions with a warm greeting because I am honored to be a part of someone's therapeutic experience. I use active listening techniques to assure my clients I am listening to understand their needs. I want clients to feel respected and validated. I support clients to see situations from different perspectives and take away some new tools and approaches to apply to their life. I like to end sessions on a positive note so clients feel uplifted and strengthened. My journey to therapy I had an early loss in my childhood and went to therapy to process it.
