Hi there, I'm Cynthia! My name is Cynthia, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). I am a dog mom of 2 Chihuahua terriers and 1 poodle terrier. I have worked in agency settings and in high schools. I have worked in residential treatment facilities with adults. I have extensive knowledge of crisis management working with law enforcement as a co-responder and working for the County jail. My approach As a therapist, I gravitate towards dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I love to teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal skills to build a life worth living. I can also use other modalities or a combination of modalities depending on your needs. My focus I have worked with individuals who are struggling with severe, moderate, and mild schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, life stressors, attachment issues, low self-esteem, struggling with weight issues, and adjusting to a life event. My communication style I will create a safe place free of judgment where you can truly explore yourself and the world around you. I will challenge you when needed in a respectful manner to aid in that personal growth. I will help you navigate personal relationships and assist you in solving the struggles you may be experiencing. I tend to be a warm and bubbly person who is genuine about helping to guide you in any stage of life to learn to cope. I am open to feedback from you about the therapeutic process and what can be improved. My journey to mental healthcare My passion for helping others started with my own journey into depression as a teen. I realized that no one should ever struggle alone. I have made it my mission to help others who have obstacles in obtaining services and working in settings that are less desirable. I am driven by my belief that we are all worthy of creating a life where happiness is a given and we have the ability to cope with life's complexities.
