Dr Ksenia Alex is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Clinical Fertility Lead for The Royal Oldham Hospital of Northern Care Alliance, Manchester. She gained her medical degree in 1997 from St Petersburg Paediatric Medical Academy and completed the postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with subspecialisation in Reproductive Medicine in the UK, she has a PhD in Reproductive Pharmacology and special interest in Subfertility with aspects of reproductive medicine related to Endometriosis, PCOS and Reproductive Surgery. She has a passion and particular interest in endometriosis-related subfertility and gynaecological endocrinology. She specialises in: · Obstetrics/Gynaecology · Reproductive/Fertility medicine · Qualified in gynaecological reproductive medicine ultrasonography · European certification in Laparoscopic surgery · Background in academic and clinical research She spent some time in Europe and Russia between 2017 and 2020 to exchange experience on managing reproductive aspects of endometriosis patients. She is formally IVF trained in the UK. Her core value is an individual clinical approach routed into basics such as physiology, biology, and endocrinology with an ongoing attempt to address the root cause rather than initiating a symptomatic treatment. This in conjunction with skills gained after extensive UK training. Dr Alex has been extremely lucky to be part of an excellent team of Consultants at The Royal Oldham hospital and given the opportunity to rebuild The Fertility service. This is a project that has been fully occupying her for more than 2 years in the hope to diversify and connect services across Greater Manchester.
