Mr. Kirti Moholkar is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon. He is currently a consultant at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He completed his training at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Knee and Shoulder Unit in 2000 and he has completed fellowships and additional clinical work in India, Australia, USA and the United Kingdom. He has developed a ground-breaking knee instrument which balances the knee during surgery, this has seen significant improvements in results following knee replacements. Mr Moholkar has always seen the importance of balance in his knee replacements ever since he began performing the operation over 20 years ago.Mr. Moholkar has a specialist interest in sports-related knee and shoulder injuries, as well as the treatment of related arthritic conditions. He has had his work published extensively and has presented at many conferences both nationally and internationally. He teaches and lectures worldwide on the topic of the medial pivot point in knee replacements. He has lectured in Belgium, Italy, Amsterdam, UK, India, Ireland and many other countries on his method and the method of reducing pain and improving satisfaction. He is also passionate about developing patient-specific guides for use in knee replacement surgery. He is known to achieve high patient reported outcome measures including excellent longevity of knee replacements.
