Described as a "positive disruptor" to Higher Education, I spearheaded the first new programme of pre-registration occupational therapy education in Scotland for over 40 years while at Edinburgh Napier University. In my current role as Programme Director of Edinburgh Summer School and MSc Year Lead in Clinical Education in Edinburgh Medical School, University of Edinburgh, I apply my breadth of skills, knowledge, and experience to inform my pedagogical approaches of justice and care to educational research, digital education, curriculum transformation, teaching and learning. As a witness to the transformative impact of Higher Education, I continue to guide transformative learning for students in the digital space, through mentorship, educational leadership, and research. My research interests include lived experiences of pedagogies of choice, trauma-informed education, and peer-support methods in assessment. I am a also practicing occupational therapist and lead weekend shifts in a busy Emergency Department, awarded the Exceptional Service Award medal in 2022.
