Currently a store-based pharmacist for Boots, working in a busy town centre store with a substantial walk-in business together with a growing care home services unit. Also experienced in offering other services including travel vaccinations and influenza vaccines. Have had a varied career path to date. From qualifying as a Pharmacist in 2000, after spending two years in various roles with Boots and Asda I chose to take the plunge and try something different. I became Cabin Crew with Virgin Atlantic. Some may say a strange career move, but the customer service skills for the two roles go hand-in-hand, and my medical skills and knowledge became invaluable on more than one occasion during my 13 year career at 38,000ft. I always remained loyal however to my original foundation as I continued to work as a Pharmacist on days off from flying. In 2015 I decided to put my leadership skills acquired as a Pharmacist and at Virgin Atlantic to the test and worked for a period of time for John Lewis as a Section Manager in Customer Service. Whilst I loved the Partnership ethos and the skills I gained the role was just not right for me, so I returned to full-time Pharmacy where I am in my present role. As to my next move, I’d never say never! Just because I’m a pharmacist doesn’t mean I’ll stay as a pharmacist for ever. If a role interested me enough and my skills were right, I’d happily take the plunge and try something new again!
