Currently working as a locum community and bank pharmacist at King Edward VII Hospital, I am actively looking to change the career path I am currently treading. Despite working in pharmacy related positions for my whole working life, I feel these have aided my personal and professional development in ways that would be easily transferrable to other sectors. I consider my strengths to be; Interpersonal skills - I feel as though I am an open minded individual, who possesses a high level of emotional intelligence. When speaking to patients or other healthcare professionals, I always respect their opinions and am empathetic with their needs. This allows me to build up a rapport with whomever I be interacting with and creates a relationship that is symbiotic. Teamworking - Working in both larger and more close-knit interprofessional teams has augmented my team working skills, and demonstrated the importance of good communication and the fulfilment of each individuals role, no matter how apparently inconsequential, is to the effective functioning of one. A sagacious manner - I believe I posses the ability to take in information, analyse it and make a logical decision in the best interest of patients in a often fast-paced and pressurised environment. This is often achieved simply by being able to focus on the important, relevant information whilst not emphasising that which is inconsequential. This allows me to focus on the bigger picture and strive toward it. Despite this, working in pharmacy, a profession that prides itself on the little details, has ensured that I am also able to ensure that every t is crossed and i dotted.
