I qualified in Podiatry in 1979 and as a Podiatric Surgeon in 1995. I have over 35 years’ experience in Higher Education as a senior lecturer and Principal lecture at 2 of the leading Schools of Podiatry in the UK and later as Head of School at Huddersfield University. Whilst I now concentrate on my surgical work in Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust, where I have held a consultants post for 21 years, I still have close connections with Huddersfield University where I teach on the MSc Theory of Podiatric Surgery and the new clinical Master of Podiatric Surgery courses and act as the Professions link to the University for the Master course following its introduction in 2020 having played a major role in its development. I was the Vice Dean of the Surgical Faculty of the Royal College of Podiatry from 2017 – 2021. I have served on the Colleges Medicines Committee since 1996. I am a Registrant Partner for the HCPC who regulate Podiatric Practice. I am annotated as both an Independent Prescriber and Podiatric Surgeon with the HCPC (registration number CH07234)
