Mr James Casha is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Kent, UK. He completed his medical education at the University of Malta in 1986, before undertaking his speciality training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Glasgow. In 1994, he obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Orthopaedic Surgeons from the University of Dundee. A year later, Mr Casha was a Spine and Trauma Fellow in Bochum, Germany, after which he undertook a fellowship in Spine and Joint Reconstruction in Toronto. For 3 years until 1999, Mr Casha returned to Malta where he also worked as a part-time Lecturer in Anatomy and Surgery at the University he originally qualified from. Upon his return to the UK, he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon for East Kent Hospitals University Trust. He plays an active role in the teaching of ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), fracture treatment, and spinal surgery and, in 2000, he was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
