I am a licensed psychologist in New York State, in practice for 30 years. My doctorate in clinical psychology is from Long Island University - Brooklyn. I have postdoctoral training in psychoanalysis from NYU Postdoctoral Program and in addiction and substance use disorders from the New School. I am also certified in hypnotherapy from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Other specialty treatments include EMDR. I believe that psychotherapy is a collaboration between therapist and patient that aims at fostering human development, particularly in regard to achieving freedom from any maladaptive ways in which we might have learned to protect ourselves, later finding that these habits only hold us back from living our full potential.
